New Beginnings.  

As the season draws to a close, Chris Heal moves on to Bridgwater and National 3 level.  Chris will be joined at Bridgwater by Lee Massey, Ali Blundell and Dan Johnson.   We wish you good luck and success guys from all at Ivel.    Keep in touch.

U17 vs Clevedon - Somerset U17 Cup Final.   The disappointment at learning this game was to be played at Walcot instead of Bath Rec was evident in all the lads faces.  The Walcot pitch was a slippery mess compared to the billiard table Rec.   This was a well fought game, alas, Ivel could not convert their chances and Clevedon claimed the silverware.   A fantastic effort by the team nevertheless.  Well done lads, from all at Ivel. 1XV vs Sherborne Away.   Both sides needed to win this game to definitely avoid the drop.  In a tense, tight match, Ivel won the game, avoided relegation and won the Bill Rowsell Cup.  Why can't all weekends be as good as this..!!

Ivel Barbarians & Sherborne Joint Donation to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Fund.  

A presentation was made to the Air Ambulance fund before the 1XV game on saturday in recognition of the important work provided by the service.

Ivel Barbarians RFC achieve RFU Seal of Approval.     ................................................  ... On Friday 18th April 2008, Ivel junior chairman John Evans and club chairman Harold Williams received Ivel's RFU Community Rugby Seal of Approval.   A commemorative plaque will be mounted in a prominent clubhouse position soon.

U17 vs Avonvale  -  Somerset U17 Cup Semi Final.   Hail, heavy rain and bright sunshine all added to the drama of this game.  Both sides played well in a thriller that was worthy of the final itself.  Thankfully, Ivel prevailed.

Ivel Girls vs Oakmeadians & Sherborne (Oakborne).    The Ivel girls proved far too powerful and quick for the Oakborne combination.   Good skills were on display throughout.

U11 vs Taunton Home.   The U11's hosted Taunton on Sunday.  Both teams played their hearts out and made this a fantastic spectacle of running rugby.  Brilliant to watch.!!

Vets vs Cwmbram II Home.   The Vets had an airing against a touring side from Cwmbran.  Cwmbran won,  watched Wales win and discovered the delights of Chicago Rock later........perfect tour..!!

1XV vs Oakmedians Away.   Ivel 1st XV had a tough time at Oaks although for periods of time looked impressive.  Danny Haseltine ran a couple of fantastic lines to split Oaks defence wide open.

Charlotte Male receives ENGLAND U20 call up.   

Charlotte is the second of Ivels talented girls squad to receive international honours.  Congratulations Charlotte.

U17 vs Western-Super-Mare Home.   Ivel hosted WSM in the Somerset Cup today.  To say that WSM were expecting an easy win was an understatement.....Ivel won.
