| Ivel Boys At Exeter Chiefs 2 Day Training Camp August 2010 |
| |
 |
Seven Ivel Barbarian boys visited the Premiership rugby club, Exeter Chiefs, for a two day training camp in preparation for the new season which starts 05 September.
The boys were put through their paces by Exeter Chief coaches, using their fantastic facilities and excellent coaching. They benefited from a variety of sessions throughout the two days alongside many other young players from other parts of the country. An already good standard from the Ivel players was improved throughout the two days.

| Coldstream Guards Message |
| |
 |
|
 |
Dear Ivel Barbarians RFC,
On behalf of the Commanding Officer and all ranks of the Coldstream Guards I would like to thank you all for your tremendous support to our Regiment over the last six months.
We are now approaching the end of a busy and challenging tour, where progress has been made in the local area but sacrifices have been made from within our ranks, with five Coldstreamers killed in action. The Coldstream Rugby Club has been hit hard, with two of its key players (who played at Ivel last year) from among those five.
We are all looking forward to coming home, and to our memorial rugby tour of the South West in June to commemmorate the lives of our fallen comrades and teammates. 'The Double "D" Memorial Tour' is named after Lance Corporal Daz Hicks and our rugby officer, Lieutenant Dougie Dalzell, who were both killed in February this year. We are particularly looking forward to our match at Ivel on the 19th June. The tour will start on 11th June at Penzance & Newlyn RFC (Daz's club), followed by Bude, Crediton and Ivel, finishing with a match at the Aldershot stadium against the old Radleyans (Dougie's old school club).
While our tour of Afghanistan has been tough, the support we have received from those back home - and particularly the Ivel Barbarians - has been overwhelming. The relationship forged on the rugby pitch between our two clubs in 2009 has remained and grown stronger while we have been away on operations. We are hugely grateful and thank you for your generous support.

U14 Tour Fund Raiser |
| |
Ivel Barbarians RFC U14's have agreed to take part in a Foneclub mobile phone recycling initiative by collecting old and unwanted mobile phones in order to raise funds towards their 2010 tour. The Club will receive £2.50 for every handset received through the scheme, and not only will you be helping to raise money, you will be helping to protect the environment too!
Did you know that the average UK household has at least two unwanted or unused mobile phones?
The scheme is very straightforward, for every handset that is received, regardless of age or condition, Ivel Barbarians, receives £2.50. We are therefore asking if everyone could kindly search their cupboards and drawers for those unwanted mobile phones and pop them in the recycling collection point at the Club or contact Andrea to arrange for a free collection.
Why not ask friends and family to donate too? To Donate Your Mobile:

Bring Phone to stated collection point or ring Andrea (07989 681421) to arrange for a free collection

Watch out YEOVIL FOOTBALL - IVEL BARBARIANS RUGBY here we come. Visiting the Exeter Chiefs for Super Saturday, on Saturday 25 April 2009, Ivel Barbarians have gained expertise from the professionals of The Exeter Chiefs. Every Ivel Barbarian player that was spoken to said that they loved Super Saturday and said that they would do it again. Others said that they would encourage more team mates to come in future.
Ivel Barbarians introduced some great future international players to Exeter chiefs today. Watch this space for future Ivel Barbarian players to become front page .
We (Ivel) became a more united club today. Older players looked after younger players and parents supported their children. It was a pleasure to be part of the true club spirit today.
We at Ivel Barbarians want rugby to become the future of Yeovil's youngsters.
Unfortunately, April sees the end of our rugby season but please watch this space for future events. The Rugby season starts at the beginning of September and we welcome all new members, youth and senior. If you are not sure if we are the club for you come along and try us for a few weeks before you join. You will be very welcome.

| Exeter Chiefs Half Term Rugby Camp 17 - 19 February 2009 |
| |
|
|
| |
Three of Ivel's up and coming junior rugby players spent last week learning tips from some of the region’s top rugby coaches as part of a Half Term camp held at Exeter Chiefs Sandy Park. The event was run by Kieth Fleming and his team as part of the community rugby section.
Cameron Barret, Daniel Long and Harry McHugh who play for the Ivels under 10's Squad, had a fantastic three days receiving Professional Rugby Tuition in techniques and skills from the community Chiefs coaches at the same time utilising the excellent facilities on offer.
The coach-to-child ratio was really high, which meant that the boys were able to work within small groups and really isolate and pinpoint individual needs and receive corrective praise as well as fault identification.
The boys used the three days to build on skills already taught at Ivel by Coaches Steve Berryman and Fran Long. The sessions were designed to be both technical and fun. They focussed on the four key elements of the game: running, catching, passing and evasion, and more sophisticated techniques, including handling, attacking lines and different types of kicking, which was of great value as this will be a new introduction to the boys game next season.
Each session ended with a game to enable the players to practice and demonstrate their new skills.
Cameron Barrett was presented with an Exeter Chiefs signed team poster for outstanding effort in the U10 age group.
All in all a fantastic couple of days and excellent value for money! Exeter now have three new Chiefs fans!!!
