Ivel travelled to mid table Corsham looking to put last weeks performance behind them. With several players injured or unavailable, the back line had two forwards in it, and Alex Gillies moved from 9 to 10.
On a boggy pitch Ivel started the game with hunger and desire and straight away started to move the much bigger Corsham pack around both in the loose and the scrum. This caused Corsham to give away several kickable penalties. Unfortunately, because of the poor conditions under foot, these dropped short.
The first twenty minutes had passed, it was all Ivel. Corsham kicked a lot of ball deep but Tom Flynn cleaned this up well and always returned the ball with interest, both running and kicking.
Having looked as if the ball was secure the back line swept around to the right, somehow Corsham managed to turn the ball over and attacked down the left with a two on one. Despite a great covering tackle from Flynn, Corsham scored in the corner.
This did not deter Ivel who came back again to control the game. All the forwards were working well together supplying good ball for the backline who were asking questions of the Corsham defence. Corsham however scored again with a carbon copy of the first try.
Still Ivel came back, continuing to play rugby, unfortunately, right on half time, Corsham intercepted on half way and went under the posts.
HT 17-0
The second half started as the first with Ivel continuing to play good rugby but without success.
The centre partnership of Berridge and Best, defensively, made Corsham keep the ball in the forwards where they also got little change with the whole pack working well.
Ivel got on the score sheet when Flynn kicked a penalty.
Again Ivel continued pressured but yet again Corsham pounced on a loose play and scored, conversion kicked.
For the last twenty minutes Ivel camped in the Corsham twenty two, however the scores never came.
FT 24-3

Martin Cole:
A fantastic effort from the whole team today. Great committment and determination. A scoreline that doesn't really reflect the game. Corsham capitalised on our mistakes and scored three tries. We will take this performance forward, which should allow us to pick up the points we need and are deserved.
