A good first game of season for the u16, both teams trying running rugby. Ivel scored first on twenty minutes with a good try from winger James Bazely(not converted). Ivel then started to miss first up tackles and Wimborne were making good inroads into Ivel territory and scored two tries and converted one,5-12 at half time.

Wimborne then started dropping off tackles and Ivel punished them with two tries one by David Wyatt and one from Chris Beachey (neither converted). Wimborne came back strongly and due to a major howler by Ivel, Wimborne scored. 15-19 with five minutes left. Ivel had one last chance and from a scrum on our five metre line the ball was worked down the line to our winger (James Bazely) who ran it in under the post. The convertion was kicked by the skipper Jamie Fear and the whistle went for the end of the game.

IVEL 22 - 19 WIMBORNE.Well played everyone, a good start to the season.

Ivel again started slow and conceded 2 trys (not converted) and struggled to hold on to a fired up Taunton team.  From a scrum near Tauntons line scrum-half Jamie Fear darted over, half time score Taunton 10-5 Ivel.

Ivel started the second half with all guns blazing and some good play saw Ivel score 2 trys to go ahead, both scored by Ryan Willetts (none converted).  Ivel then conceded a soft try from the kick off which was converted (Taunton 17-15 Ivel).  Ryan Willetts then completed his hat trick converted by Jamie Fear.  Taunton came straight back to score (not converted), 22 all now with 5 mins left.  Ivel pressed hard and scored under the posts by James Bazely converted by Jamie.  Another good win for Ivel, a 9 try thriller, well done to everyone.

Final Score  Taunton 22-29 Ivel

Both teams threw the ball about and tried to play rugby in the bad weather and it was bridport who scored first.  Ivel responded with a try by Chris Beechey in the corner after good work by the forwards.  As in previous games Ivel gifted Bridport a soft try but came straight back and scored by James Bazely.  A superb try under the posts by Jamie Fear and converted by Jamie had Ivel going in at half time 17-10 ahead.

Bridports forwards started to dominate the rucks and kicked a penalty and scored 2 quick trys due to poor defense by the backs.  Ivel then had a player sent off for stamping and Bridport scored a try in the last minute.

Final score 17-32.  Some areas to work hard on at training.

Both sides went out to play some good rugby.  Ivel scored first when D.J HINSON crashed over after good work by the forwards.  Sherborne then scored in the corner from some good forward pressure and converted the score.  From half way FRASOR CRAWFORD threw a outrages dummy that the Sherborne back line all bought and he ran in under the posts and converted.

Half time Ivel 12 - 7 Sherborne.

Frasor scored again under the posts and converted. The backs started to play with some authority and JAKE CORY scored, converted by FRASOR.  The Ivel scrum was put under pressure and Sherborne scored two tries, one converted.  Ivel were winning good line out ball and from a catch and drive, CHESTER BUCKLE crashed over, converted by JAKE CORY.

Final score Ivel 33 - 17 Sherborne.

Well played everyone.

Ivels first game since November 21st was a nine try thriller in very blustery conditions.

Ivel scored first through Matt Roberts after a super hand off and scored under the posts, converted by Fraser Crawford. Dorchester then scored after some good forward play unconverted. Fraser Crawford then scored under the posts and converted his own try but Dorchester came straight back and scored a converted try. A strong burst into the line saw Jake Cory score, converted by Fraser.

HT   12 - 21

Dorchester started the second half strongly and scored two trys both converted and Ivel looked to be on the ropes with some dubious penalty decisions and the bounce of the ball against them.  Dochester chose to kick a penalty in front of the posts and Ivel were now down by eight points with ten minutes to go. One of Ivels strengths is the never say die attitude. Ivel were winning good clean line-out ball and they came roaring back to score a good try by Tom Dark after some hard nosed forward play converted by Fraser. Dorchester now started to throw the kitchen sink at Ivel but they held firm and from a turnover on their own 22 metre line spun the ball wide and Jake Cory ran in under the posts from half way, again converted by Fraser. Ivel held out for the last two minutes for a good win.

FT   Dorchester 29     Ivel  35       well played everyone.

Dorchester started much the brighter and Ivel had some serious defending to do but held firm.  Ivel gradually worked their way up field and scored a good try when fly-half Ryan Willetts threw a good dummy and scored under the posts, but fluffed the conversion.  Both sides played attacking rugby but their handling let them down at times.  Dorchester scored but could not convert 5-5 at half time.

Dorchester scored (unconverted) to now lead 5-10.  Ivel scored after good forward play under the post by Conner Hurley converted by Ryan.  Ivel then committed a basic error and let a high kick bounce and knocked on trying to recover the ball.  From the scrum Dorchester moved the ball down the back line and scored in the corner not converted 12-15 to Dorchester.

Ivel have shown plenty of fighting spirit and never say die attitude this season and worked their way into Dorchester's 22 and from a tap penalty hooker Jack Clark made good ground, the forwards recycled quick ball and it was spun down the line for Jake Cory to score converted by Ryan.

Final score IVEL 19-15 DORCHESTER.

Ivels last ever game as part of the junior section was played at a fast tempo on a glorious sunny day.

Ivel wanted to throw the ball around to finish off in style.Good interlinking between forwards and backs led to a fine try under the posts scored by Ryan Willetts converted by Ryan.

Swans played their part and Ivel had to defend well to keep them from scoring.Ivels second try was scored in the corner after some slick handling by Ran Jameson unconverted,12-0 at half time.

After the break both sides still played open rugby and but for a few misplaced passes either side could have scored,Ivel finally scored in the bottom corner by moving the ball down the back line for winger Brandon Tai to shoot over, unconverted. It had been a real team effort.

MAN OF MATCH Jack Clark.Well played everyone.
