Rugby appears to be alive and well in Norton as they had enough players to field three teams!  Everyone was quickly organised and 3 friendly games of 9 aside with Ivel having 3 subs!! arranged.

First game Ivel's erratic defence and inability to form a line gifted Norton tries and the end result was Ivel 6 MSN 6.  Try scorers were Liam Rory Freddy and George with 2.

Game 2 Norton fielded an even stronger team and shot into a 3-0 lead but Ivel pulled 2 back through Toby and Rory before Norton crossed again to make it 4-2 at half time.

The second half (after a good talking to ) was better, with some good tagging and organisation from Ivel. The second half was a to and fro affair With Roy Simeon and Rory again scoring, with each Ivel try followed by a Norton counter try. Second half 3-3.  Final score 7-5 to Norton.

Game 3
Erratic defence again and after Toby had given us the lead we conceded 3 on the trot before the end of the half.
Second half was again all square with Rory and Liam scoring one each to cancel the Norton scores.Final score 5-3 to Norton.

Overall the team played well but we need to organise better and be ready in defence, the attacking was excellent but at times we were guilty of stealing the ball from our player and not letting him pass, this lead to a couple of offsides a couple of dropped balls and missed opportunities.

Organisation is key, especially as we have been lucky to have gifted youngsters coming up from the reception group, the more experienced players need to control and create the defensive line we need. High hopes for sunday at Wellington let's get there early and work on that defence!!
