May I just say a big thank you to all the parents that made the long journey to Wellington RFC for what turned out to be a very good day of rugby.
With our magnificent team of 7 we knew it was going to be a long tiring day with 6 tough games of rugby ahead, 3 in the morning, a little break for lunch & then 3 in the afternoon. The first 3 games were played at a tremendous pace, with some fantastic individual running. Great team work, quick passing and good supporting play resulting in 2 wins and a draw. A fantastic morning session.
Unfortunately after lunch, due to the early start and the clocks going forward the energy levels started to drop and tired legs started to appear. We were unable to continue our tremendous form from the morning games, never the less the standard of rugby played was very good and we were only beaten by the smallest of margins in 2 of the games. Again some great team play and individual brilliance we finished our campaign with a worth while draw.
Everyone should be very proud of each other for the way that the team played during the festival, and remember “A team is not made of individual players but a group of players”, very well played to everybody.
I would just like to finally say a big thank you to Wellington RFC for putting on such a fantastically well organised Rugby Festival, it was a brilliant day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
