Ivel moved up the table after a fine win away to North Dorset. The visiting side controlled the first half scoring 5 unanswered tries. Ivel made their mark minutes into the game when after a well worked move in the backs allowed Will Hopkinson to cross over for the first points of the day. Ivel from the restart went right back on the attack, applying pressure to North Dorset’s defence. The visitors were soon awarded with a penalty which Alex McGuinn successfully converted. Ivel soon scored their second tri when scrum half Danny Anderson was able to dart through the defence to reach the line. McGuinn adding the extras. Ivels back row were getting everywhere and preventing North Dorset from setting any kind of platform. And after turning over another ball, Anderson was able to break and score his second of the day. Ivel dominated the rest of the half scoring two more tries through Joe Stelmaszyk and Will Hopkinson, his second of the day.

Second half started and North Dorset started to find some momentum and was able to push Ivel back, testing their defence. North Dorset then won a penalty and were able to get themselves on the score sheet. This gave North Dorset confidence and soon found themselves back in the game with two quick tries. Ivel were not going to buckle though, as in the first half they were able to find their rhythm, and score two unanswered tries of their own. The first with Stelmaszyk touching down for his second of the day and the second for the returning, Rob Burnell. With the game nearing the end, North Dorset pushed for one more score and were successful when their forwards were able to power over the line. Ivel though were able to score their final points of the day, when after some good handling from the team, second row, Paul Mortensen, was able to score Ivels eighth tri. After the game Ivel Manager, Ed Mason, said “ I was really pleased with the performance today. All the lads gave hundred and ten percent. We played some of the best Rugby I have seen in a while. Hopefully we can build on this for the rest of the season”
