Ivel under 13 travelled up the road to face North Petherton in their first game since their bruising  encounter against Bridgewater.  The North Petherton team were two players short so two of the Ivel players kindly said they would run out for the opposition so that the game could go ahead.

It was a great game of rugby with both sides looking to run the ball wide from the start.  North Petherton held out well and put in some crunching tackles but then Ivel started to put some great phases of play together and scored 5 tries before half time.

During the half time break the Ivel players were swapped around and the game resumed. The North Petherton outfit started the second half well and came close to scoring but the Ivel defence held firm.

Once again the Ivel team played some great rugby with backs and forwards linking well to produce another 5 tries.

The North Petherton team never gave up and are a credit to their club and coach and made a real game of it despite the score line.

Credit must also go to those Ivel players who played for the opposition and showed real team spirit and commitment.
