I would just like to thank all the parents for making the long journey to a very windy and slightly wet Midsomer Norton. With 1 game of rugby already under their belts, the feeling amongst the team was that of confidence!! Each game was 10 minutes long, with a total of 6 games to play and only 10 players it was going to be a long day.

The lads played tremendously well, winning 1, drawn 2 & lost 3. Some of the games we should have won, but we just couldn’t finish them off. Overall a fantastic achievement by the team in their first full contact tournament.  Each game had lots of high and low points; there was some great running by all players, and especially some of Alistair’s weaving runs. The defence was fantastic with some thundering tackles being made by everyone, especially well done to Jay, Thomas and Jack for some great try saving tackles.

There are still a few areas we have to think about before our next game:

  1. Keep the defensive line flat.
  2. Don’t bunch around the player with the ball.
  3. Let’s try and pass, before we get tackled.
  4. Don’t let them rip the ball from us.

Well done everybody, it turned out to be a fantastic day; this only stands us in good stead for the rest of the season.

The man of the match this week was Alistair, for his ball ripping, tackling and his weaving runs. Well done
